Fostering Imagination

Description

I had to age-regress myself. Who wants to see a guy, staring into the face of middle-age, drinking a Dr. Pepper and plodding away at life. I'm pretty, just not New York billboard-pretty. This idea made for a better image in my opinion.

I grew up in a small town. When I say small, I mean they had to count the cats and dogs to get the population up to 40 on the city limit sign. Needless to say, there were not many other kids to play with. I spent the majority of my childhood on my own, exploring the woods and well...just, simply imagining. I feel like those times fostered the creativity I have today.
More often than not, on those "hero's quests", I was carrying a soda in the leg pocket of my cargos. Usually, it was a Dr. Pepper (my brother got me on the stuff, I tell ya. He also hooked up the hand-me-down combat boots that were always too big).
But that was how I drank a Dr. Pepper: on imaginary adventures in the woods.

This is made with markers and colored pencils on smooth bristol. The different aspects were then cut out and arranged at various depths. It was ridiculously meticulous but I'm really happy with the way it turned out.

Good luck to everyone in the contest. I see a lot of great entries.
